Planning Your Flights
Your journey begins before you board the ship!
As we prepare for our July 2027 journey from Rome to Barcelona, Harbor Close Travel has researched several flight possibilities to help our travelers choose arrangements that best suit their schedules, comfort preferences, and budgets.
Our itinerary includes time in Rome before embarking on the cruise and additional time in Barcelona afterward, providing a more relaxed beginning and conclusion to our European adventure. While nonstop flights are generally our preference, connecting flights can offer meaningful savings.

Choosing the flight that feels right for you
Nonstop flights and connections
Whenever practical, we recommend nonstop international flights. When connections are necessary, we favor comfortable layovers rather than tight connections, allowing time for possible delays, passport control or security procedures, and transfers between gates. The connections shown here still need to be assessed when booking.
Seat selection and checked baggage
Advance seat selection may cost extra, including on some standard economy fares. Checked-baggage allowances also vary by airline and ticket type. Before purchasing, compare the complete cost with the seats and bags you need, and review the ticket’s change and cancellation conditions.
Premium Economy and upgraded seating
For lengthy international flights, Premium Economy may be an attractive upgrade when the budget permits, offering additional comfort and benefits that vary by airline and aircraft. Extra-legroom economy seats are a different product from a dedicated Premium Economy cabin. Business Class and First Class, where offered, can provide substantially greater comfort but may cost thousands of dollars more than economy.
Airline miles and credit-card rewards
If you have frequent-flyer miles, airline loyalty benefits, or eligible travel-reward credit cards, explore opportunities to redeem points for flights or upgrades. Availability, redemption values, and eligibility vary, so compare the points required, any cash charges, and the benefits included.
